Ingredients

  • 750ml dry white wine
  • 400ml cider
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp golden caster sugar
  • a few lemon slices

Step by step

  1. Fill a large saucepan with all the ingredients and a few lemon slices.

  2. Bring to a gentle boil and simmer gently for 5 minutes, then add more sugar to taste if required. Strain and serve in heatproof glass mugs, with lemon slices and cinnamon sticks to garnish.
