Ingredients

  • 1 medium broccoli crown (about 200g)
  • 40g grated fresh coconut
  • 1⁄2 onion, roughly chopped
  • 1 green chilli, roughly chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt
For the temper
  • 2 tsp coconut oil (or any other neutral oil)
  • 1⁄2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 sprig curry leaf

Step by step

  1. Start with the temper. Add the coconut oil to a large frying pan and heat over a medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and when they start to pop, add the chilli flakes and curry leaves. Cook for around 1 minute until fragrant. Set aside while you prepare the broccoli.
  2. Put all the ingredients for the broccoli in a food processor, and pulse until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add the broccoli mixture to the temper in the frying pan and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until tender. Season to taste and serve.
