step by step

  • 1Preheat oven to 190°C, fan 170°C, gas 5. 
  • 2Place the brownie mix in a bowl. Melt the butter in a jug in the microwave for 30 seconds or heat gently in a pan until melted.
  • 3Using an electric mixer blend together the melted butter and the brownie mix. With the mixer running slowly add the beaten eggs. Mix until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined and you have a smooth batter.
  • 4Pour into a 25x20cm greased baking tin and smooth the top to level. Place in the middle of the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. The brownie should still be soft in the middle. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
  • Top tip: as a finishing touch, once cool, dust with cocoa powder or drizzle with melted chocolate - divine!
