Ingredients
- 100ml double cream
- 2 tsp icing sugar
- ½ tsp almond extract
- 300ml whole milk
- 2 tbsp light brown sugar
- 100g dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids), chopped, plus extra to serve
- 2 tbsp amaretto liqueur, or to taste
- 10g toasted flaked almonds
Step by step
- Whip the cream to soft peaks, then fold in the icing sugar and almond extract. Chill until needed.
- Pour the milk into a saucepan, add the brown sugar and heat gently until simmering, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate until melted and smooth. Return to the heat to warm through before adding the Amaretto.
- Divide between two mugs and top each with a dollop of the chilled whipped almond cream. Scatter with dark chocolate shavings and the toasted almonds.
