Ingredients
- 3 tea bags
- 100g granulated sugar
- 100ml freshly squeezed lemon juice (3-4 lemons)
- 125ml of rum or vodka
- ice cubes
Step by step
- Add 3 tea bags (regular or Earl Grey) to a large heatproof jug with 500ml boiling water and leave to brew for 10 minutes, then discard the bags. Make up to 1 litre with cold water, leave to cool then chill well for at least 3 hours.
- Dissolve the sugar in 100ml water in a small pan. Pour into a heatproof jug and add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, then make up to 350ml with cold water. Chill for at least 3 hours.
- Pour the rum or vodka, to your preference, into a pitcher, followed by the iced tea and the fresh still lemonade, stir well. Serve in long glasses over plenty of ice cubes, garnished with lemon slices.
